We are aware that it has been suggested that the Fairfield Suisun Unified School District did not request our presence at the Sem Yeto graduation ceremony on June 3rd.

We want to be clear that we have a collaborative relationship with the Fairfield Suisun Unified School District, and this is not an accurate characterization of what occurred.

The Fairfield Police Department maintains a memorandum of understanding with the Fairfield‑Suisun Unified School District to provide officers for events such as sporting events and graduations, when requested by the district. The established process requires the request be submitted to a designated person within the department, who then processes the request.

Through an internal review conducted in coordination with FSUSD administration, an attempt to make a request was submitted for the Sem Yeto graduation. The request was not made through the established channels and the department was not aware of the request.

We remain committed to supporting FSUSD and our community, and we will continue working collaboratively to ensure clear communication and the safety of all.

We are also in direct communication with school district leadership regarding security planning and public safety considerations for all remaining graduation ceremonies

Additional information regarding graduation events will continue to be provided by the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District.

On June 3 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Fairfield Police officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Fairfield High School following the Sem Yeto Continuation High School graduation ceremony.

Four individuals were struck by gunfire during the incident. Three victims, ages 11, 20, and 25, sustained non-fatal gunshot injuries. A fourth victim, an 18-year-old, succumbed to their injuries. The department is aware of a rumor circulating on social media that the 11-year-old passed away due to injuries sustained in this incident. This is not accurate and the child is currently recovering at a local hospital. The identities of the victims are not being released currently pending next-of-kin notification and to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

This event was attended by approximately 1,000 people, with hundreds of potential witnesses to this tragedy. Fairfield Police detectives are currently identifying and interviewing these witnesses and are actively following up on investigative leads. As this is an on-going investigation, no additional information is available for release.

Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Fairfield Police Investigations Tip Line at 707-428-7345 or email [email protected].

The Fairfield Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the victims, their families, and all those affected by this tragedy. We understand this incident has caused significant concern within our community. While the investigation remains ongoing, Fairfield Police investigators are working diligently to identify those responsible and ensure the continued safety of our community.

We also thank the Vacaville Police Department, Solano County Sheriff's Office, FBI, and ATF for their assistance with the initial response and ongoing investigation.

From Saturday night to Monday evening, Fairfield police officers made six separate DUI arrests. One driver recorded blood alcohol concentrations (BACs) exceeding five times the legal limit.

These arrests serve as an important reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence. Impaired driving puts not only the driver at risk, but also passengers, pedestrians, and everyone else on the road.

If you plan to drink, make arrangements for a sober ride home, use a rideshare service, or designate a sober driver. Together, we can help keep our community safe and prevent tragedies caused by impaired driving.

Unforgettable Hoops and Legends 🏆🏀

Last week, Officer Cox had the wonderful privilege of taking a group of teens from the Fairfield PAL Teen Center to see the Valkyries take on the Fever! 🏀

The highlights didn't stop with the game, though—the girls also got the incredible opportunity to meet 2x Olympic gold medalist and WNBA legend Ruthie Bolton.

Memories like this last a lifetime - we are so proud to support these young women and can't wait for the next PAL adventure!
