A great day knocking doors with Anthony Amos, Sandi Slappey Brown for Fairfax and María José Padmore! These three are on fire, knocking 800 doors a week! We are very proud of how hard they are all working to meet voters and talk about the issues.

We are excited to announce the candidates for local office that the City Dems are supporting for election this fall: Kirsten Lockhart for Mayor, and Anthony Amos, Sandi Slappey Brown, Maria Jose Padmore, and Kelly O'Brien for City Council. In addition, we'll be supporting the re-election of our Congressman James Walkinshaw and Senator Mark Warner, as well as the 3 amendments to protect reproductive rights, marriage equality and restoration voting rights. The City of Fairfax has canceled the Independence Day Parade due to extreme heat. Our top priority is the safety of attendees and city staff working the event.

The Evening Show will start at 8 p.m., with gates opening at 7:30 p.m. Evening Show shuttle service begins at 7 p.m. from George Mason University’s Rappahannock River Parking Deck and Woodson High School. Fireworks are scheduled for approx. 9:30 p.m.

The Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center’s open house and lawn party has also been canceled.

Instructions from City of Fairfax (We are in Division 7):

Report to line-up at 9:30am on July 4th. DIVISION LOCATION: FOLLOW PURPLE SIGNS! Division 7 will line-up in the parking lot behind the historic courthouse located at Page Avenue and Main Street.

PARKING LOCATION: Free parking is available at the Massey Building Complex Parking Garage B, located on Page Avenue (Garage A is not available for parking). Parking passes are not required. You may also park in any of the free parking garages located in downtown, a 10-15 minute walk from the parade lineup location.
