ATTENTION 🎉

Registration is now open for the newly updated Operational Preventive Medicine (OPM) course, which replaces the former Contingency Preventive Medicine course.

All FY26 OPM course offerings are available for registration at the following link: https://usafsam.geniussis.com/catalog/course/1216/operational-preventive-medicine-opm/sections

Important Notes:
All registrants must submit the required documentation outlined on the registration site.

The prioritization letter is especially critical—due to this being a combined Public Health and Bioenvironmental Engineering course, demand will exceed available seats. This letter will be a key factor in determining placement based on mission requirements.

There are currently seven OPM courses scheduled for FY26. We are actively working on securing funding to fully staff all seven sessions.

Seeking a SSgt for a Public Health Instructor position at USAFSAM, Wright-Patterson AFB. RNLTD: 31 Aug 25 (early reporting welcome). Volunteer by 7 Apr 25. Non-volunteers may be selected if no volunteers apply.

Key Details:
Location: USAFSAM, WPAFB, OH
48-month tour
Instruct various personnel in Public Health topics
Curriculum development & admin duties

Must Haves:
Served in the 4E0X1 career field within the last 2 years
CCAF in Public Health Technology (PHT) (or within 1 year of completion - 52 SH)
Minimum physical profile of 121121 (waivers may be considered)
"Exceeded some" or "Exceeded most" on last 3 EPRs
75 or above on last fitness test (exemptions considered case-by-case)
No Article 15s or UIFs in the last 3 years
No history of sexual assault, harassment, abuse, or unprofessional relationships

Completed Generic Special Duty Assignment Application (see SPECAT Guide)
AF IMT 422A with PULHES and specific statements (see full details below)

Job Description:
Enlisted Public Health Instructor: Instructs in all aspects of Public Health in the apprentice, officer, and other Team Aerospace and AFMS AFSCs in areas of Community Health, Force Health Management, and Contingency Operations for both basic and advanced courses. Member will develop curriculum and perform additional administrative duties. Applicant must possess experience in all areas of public health. Must have a strong working knowledge of public health programs and penchant for team aerospace AFSCs. Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills. This is a maximum 48 month tour. Notes: (1) Members are asked to submit an application IAW with TM ad requirements.

Desired Courses: Required to attend/complete USAFSAM Basic Instructor Course (local TDY) and max 12-month instructor internship.
