Today, I was back out going door to door, and a man I stopped to talk with asked me a question that stayed with me the rest of the day: “What do you believe about God?”

It really wasn’t just the question—or even my answer—but what it reminded me of.

With this being such an important week for Christians, a time when we reflect on Jesus and all He has done for us, I felt led to use this platform to share something more meaningful than politics.

The message is simple, but powerful. Jesus, the Son of God, came to this earth and lived a perfect life, He faced the same temptations and struggles we do. Though He was without sin, He took our place on the cross and suffered what we deserve—because of His love for us, despite our imperfections and failures. He became the perfect sacrifice. He was laid in a tomb, and three days later, He rose again.

That simple question reminded me that no matter what we’re pursuing in life, as Christians we are all called to share the good news of Jesus Christ and to be faithful in the purpose God has given us.

I was back at it again this weekend. Nothing especially new or exciting—just more signs and even tougher ground.

I really enjoyed seeing some old friends in Beatrice and Vredenburgh and catching up. Working in law enforcement can be challenging, because more often than not, officers and deputies meet people on some of the worst days of their lives. Spending time sitting around and talking with folks was a great reminder that our county is home to some of the kindest and most generous people. Many shared their thoughts, concerns, and appreciation for law enforcement officers. Those conversations reminded me why I—and the great people I work with—do what we do every day.

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy weekend to talk with me, and as always, thank you for the prayers and support.

You may have already noticed, but we’ve really been hitting it hard this past week.

A huge thank you to everyone who has allowed us to put signs up — your support truly means more than you know.

The man in the pictures who’s been helping me with these signs is my dad, William House Jr., or as most people know him, Billy House. He’s one of the people most responsible for teaching me how to work. From a young age, he instilled in me that if you’re going to do something, you do it to the very best of your ability and give it everything you have.

That work ethic didn’t start with him. He learned it from his dad, William House (W.H. House), and he passed it down to me.

Growing up, I remember working alongside my dad and a group of men — they all worked at the paper mill together and would spend their weekends working side by side. I wish I could name every one of them, but I know I’d leave someone out. No matter how hot it was or how tough the job — roofing, building barns, cutting trees, electrical work, A/C work — my dad was always smiling because he genuinely loved it.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized just how blessed I was to be surrounded by strong, hardworking men like my dad, my granddad, my uncles, and those men we worked with. They weren’t the only ones who helped shape me, but they played a huge role in molding me into the person I am today.

Also, our smaller yard signs are in! If you’d like one, drop us a comment and we’ll make sure to get one to you.

This past week we had the monthly Monroe county Republican meeting, it was good to be able speak and to hear from some of the other candidates running for various positions.

As citizens we have the right to vote, but with that comes a responsibility. A responsibility to cast an informed vote. Be sure and do your research so you know what your vote is doing, and let your vote work towards what you think the future should look like.

A vote for me would be a vote for someone who has worked in our communities first hand, someone who knows a lot of the concerns the communities have, someone who has strived to help make our communities safer by being proactive and involved. I am someone who has a proven record of working hard and who is devoted to serving others as Christ commanded us. I hope to continue to have opportunities to meet and speak with people so they know what their vote is working towards if they vote Brian House for Monroe County Sheriff in 2026.

I have officially qualified in the upcoming Sheriff’s Election. You will see the name “Brian H. House” on your Republican ballot on May 19th. I’d appreciate if everyone would fill in that little bubble by my name. If you’re not sure about doing that right now, I hope I have the opportunity to earn your support before that date.

I would also like to say thank you to all my fellow law enforcement officers for the job you do every day. January 9th is the day set aside to recognize and show appreciation for law enforcement officers and the sacrifices they make in service to their communities.

No one can do this job alone, and I am truly thankful for the great men and women I have the privilege to work alongside each day—and for those who have served before us. Stay safe, and thank you for all that you do.

We had a great time this weekend at the local parades, the turn out was great, even after being rescheduled due to the rain last weekend. I don’t have any pictures from Monroeville’s parade but it appears that Ashley House was able to get it done without any major accidents. Thanks to everyone for all of the support, it was nice to meet and speak with people and hear encouraging words from the different communities. Our county is home to some of the most genuine, and nicest people, these types of events are a good reminder of that.

Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

We look forward to seeing everyone out and about at some of the parades this weekend.

You won’t see me in the Monroeville parade Saturday because it’s a mandatory work event for us at the Police department. From the Chief of the Police to new recruits, everyone assists with this event, so I’ll be out answering calls for service while our patrol units work the parade route.

However I think I have convinced my awesome wife Ashley M House to represent us in that parade(please don’t hold her driving against me, I’m still trying to teach her). Thanks again for all the support!

I want to take a minute to say thank you to everyone who has reached out to me or one of my family members in support.

I want to keep this campaign clean and make it about what I have done up to this point in my life and career and my vision moving forward if elected.

For everyone who has asked how they can support financially, I am in the process of setting everything up and will post the information soon.

The best way to show support is by voting on Election Day. Around election times, I have always encouraged people to vote, even if you don’t vote the way that I do. Voting is your voice to elect public servants and to let those public servants know what the citizens want done. If you don’t use your voice, then you won’t be heard.

I am excited to start this process. Election Day will be here before we know it. 🇺🇸
