Common trope used by Republicans because very few people actually understand how this works.

ALSO GREG ABBOTT:
"I DON'T HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER PROPERTY TAXES."

OK GREGORY, WHICH IS IT?

Houston Chronicle fact checked his ad claiming Gina Hinojosa voted 40 times to raise property taxes. Turns out those votes were her voting against Republican-backed bills that would have restricted how much local governments could collect. She also backed raising the homestead exemption, which lowers your bill, not raises it.

And here's the part that gets me. The state legislature doesn't even levy property taxes. Counties and school districts do. Abbott himself has run ads saying exactly that when it's convenient for him.

So which is it, Greg. Does the legislature have enough power over your property tax bill to blame Hinojosa for raising it, or does it not, like you say when nobody's watching too closely?

You don't get both arguments. Pick one.

Republican, Democrat or Independent, when the same guy needs two different stories to be true at the same time, that should tell you something.

No politician owns your vote. Make them earn it, and make them keep their story straight while they're at it.

Tell me which version of Greg you believe.

Well, well, well. Look who suddenly remembered he has a passport.

Umar Matthew Ingalls, one of the "Cornell 7" accused in the alleged 2024 gang r**e at the Chi Phi house, is now reportedly in Dubai, where he grew up. Neighbors of his relatives in Connecticut told the Daily Mail they believe he's back in the Middle East with his dad. How convenient.

Quick refresher on Mr. Ingalls. He's the one Jane Doe says invited her to the house that night. He's also the one who, according to messages filed in her lawsuit, shared a photo of her in the frat's Snapchat group chat and wrote "Like you can walk in and whip it out." The New York Post reports he added "Boys come whip it out." Truly the words of a gentleman.

Cornell's own investigation found him responsible for sexually assaulting her and expelled him. Yet the local DA declined to charge anyone in 2024. Oh, and New York still has an antiquated law saying a woman who voluntarily drinks can't claim she was too intoxicated to consent. Make it make sense.

This week, audio of his November 2024 phone call with Jane Doe dropped. She tells him she was "10 shots deep." His response? "You did tell me you were sober, by the way." He also offered this gem: "It's possible that both of us, like, remember this, and it's not true." That's not a memory, sir. That's a script.

And now, days after Gov. Hochul appointed Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor to take over the investigation, and with that call now public, he's reportedly halfway across the world.

Ah yes. Because nothing says "I'm innocent" like leaving the country the second someone with actual prosecutorial power starts looking at you.

In a post on X, politician Melanie D'Arrigo reacted to President Donald Trump's announcement of a major push to expand the federal death penalty during a political rally in Mobile, Alabama. While Trump boasted about the drop in crime rates under his leadership, Arrigo pointed to his mass pardons and lack of transparency regarding the Epstein Files.
