Congratulations Katie for winning 3rd place in the gallery this year!

From Katie: After having had many years of education in the arts, working in the arts, and teaching in the arts I have come back to creating my art.
I am currently using clay as my medium to create and express myself both sculpturally and functionally. My influences as an artist come from my youth visiting my grandfather’s aviaries with birds from around the world, he was an omithologist. Nature, growing up in the mountains walking amongst the redwoods, the oaks, and the fruit trees. Finally from my formal education of art history, the forms of pottery, figures and architecture all play a role in my sculptural world.
