Thank you FINANCE team!! 💰💸💵🤑

Project Highlights

Finance Director Supported every major event this year—Medication Abortion Fair, 24 Hour Libraries, Week of Relief, Street Faire—and championed the winter budget that increased program funding, prioritized students and student workers, and delivered services admin refuses to fund.

Department Finance Committee Fulfilled most department budgets for FY27 despite a tight environment, while advocating for student workers and responsible use of student fees—setting a precedent that DFC’s authority can do real good for students.

thank you ORGANIZING!! 🗣️📣

Project Highlights
Secretary of Organizing Worked to bring democracy and student voice into undemocratic university processes like the Student Code of Conduct, and connected organizing spaces across campus so ASUO resources can actually reach the people doing the work.

Secretary of Labor Built ASUO’s connection to campus labor through the Campus Labor Council, ASUO solidarity with GTFF and SEIU bargaining, the Socialist Speaker Series, and an endorsement of Jennifer Smith’s city council campaign.

Secretary of SSWANA Helped implement the new SSWANA Center (opened Winter 2026) as part of the Gaza Student Encampment Agreement, and works directly with Gaza students applying to UO’s International Crisis Response Scholarship—from outreach through visas, housing, food, and transportation.

Secretary of Accessibility Helped secure a new ADA van with multiple wheelchair spaces for disability orgs and adaptive programs, and partnered with the Location Innovation Labs on a campus mapping app that lets students drop pins flagging access barriers and notify the departments who can fix them.

Thank you ADVOCACY team🐐

Project Highlights 🗣️

Organized a student-led ASUO Lobby Day at the State Capitol, where students advocated for legislation aligned with UO student priorities, including ICE protections, Open Primary elections, and a higher education study. Students lobbied for HB 4079, an ICE notification bill that became state law, requiring a comprehensive ICE Alerts system at public schools and universities.

When the federal government paused SNAP benefits in November 2025, ASUO launched a Week of Relief, providing daily meals and collecting donations. Before SNAP was restored, over 1,200 non-perishable food items were distributed and an average of 147 students were fed per event.

The Medication Abortion Action Fair, a collaboration between ASUO and the Medication Abortion Coalition, united campus reproductive health organizations to advocate for expanded services. Following a multi-year campaign, Medication Abortion services were won at UO starting Fall term.

The Advocacy Department hosted “Know Your Rights” trainings in partnership with local nonprofits and immigration lawyers, equipping students with practical knowledge and a resource toolkit to support affected communities.

Contributed to the Socialist Speaker Series and the Future of Work Conference, bringing speakers to campus to discuss social justice issues and community organizing.

The Street Safety Awareness Campaign, organized by ASUO and GTFF, promotes road and pedestrian safety through signage, outreach, and community events, encouraging shared responsibility among drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians to reduce accidents and create safer public spaces.
