My Comfort Buddy is a first-of-its-kind companion rental service for anyone needing comfort and strength during one of the most challenging times of their life. Our Comfort Buddy army of plush animals spend time with those going through surgeries or other medical procedures. When their human companion have completed their initial procedure and recovery, the Comfort Buddy will make their way to the
ir next companion. What makes our Comfort Buddies so special? They have already guided and comforted others through their time of need - giving their human friends a sense of comfort, security, and peace of mind. This connection brings reassurance to all age groups - not just kids. In fact - adults love Comfort Buddies very much! My Comfort Buddy was started by Kristin Bertrand in 2015. Facing a rare brain tumor surgery, Kristin found comfort in a beautiful plush animal that she brought to the hospital with her. This plush green frog stayed at Kristin's side from pre-surgery through recovery. Upon coming home from the hospital, Kristin passed this plush, smiley green frog on to another person who was going to have the same rare brain surgery. The next recipient named him "Freedom the Frog" - signifying freedom from the pain and suffering brought on by her brain tumor. Freedom the Frog has now traveled across the country multiple times spending time with many brain surgery patients. While this specific brain surgery is very rare, Freedom can not keep up - so we are expanding the ranks. The Beta launch of My Comfort Buddy is now open. Our goal is to expand our audience to other procedures and surgeries so that we can share comfort, care and courage to all those in need.
