For those following Baltimore County races, the official results page will continue to be updated (probably tonight) with additional mail-in votes and provisional ballots next week.

“After 10,000 mail-in ballots were counted on Thursday, Jones remained firmly in the lead by a 6,954 vote margin. More mail in ballots are arriving according to county board of elections director Ruie Lavoie. They can be counted as long as they were postmarked by June 23, which was the date of the primary.”

Sharonda Dillard-Huffman is holding a significant lead in the Democratic race against Crystal Cody and Jack Carmody, all of whom are vying to represent the newly drawn eastern Baltimore County district that includes Essex, Middle River and surrounding waterfront communities.

Thank you to Crystal and Jack for running. Now it is time to unify to flip this seat! I am excited to work w/them both.

Initial election returns across primary races for the Baltimore County Council are showing an increasingly diverse group of candidates.

My comment was pending approval on the The Baltimore Banner app, so I’ll share it here instead.

🗣️For transparency, both the TABCO, Teachers Association of Baltimore County and Metro Baltimore Council AFL - CIO Unions endorsed and supported my opponent in the primary. That is their right, and I respect it. The voters, however, supported me.

I have often received fair and positive coverage from the media, and I am grateful for that. However, after reading this article, I do have a question for The Baltimore Banner.

The article states:

“On the dais will likely be a Black woman, a Gen Z member, two far-right Republicans, and progressive Democrats who made it through a bruising primary.”

My question is this: Is The Baltimore Banner suggesting that two Black women from the East Side are unlikely to win? The primary results are still being finalized, yet the article appears to predict the outcome of the general election.

I have grown accustomed to being underestimated. I received 49.21% of the vote. I had two opponents.
