👀 Real Househusbands of Towson: Council Edition — Today’s Work Session

There is a LOT on the Council’s plate, and some of it directly affects the Eastside.

🏢 DATA CENTERS: Bill 79-26 would extend the temporary suspension on data-center permitting through December 31, 2027. (Advice of 7 out of 9 Democratic Council Nominees)

🚛 MIDDLE RIVER DEVELOPMENT: Bill 88-26 proposes stronger public-notice requirements for certain warehouse projects over 50,000 square feet and calls for a broader review of the County’s development-exemption process.

🚰 MIDDLE RIVER SEWER: Resolution 28-26 concerns an extension of the sanitary sewer system in the Middle River area. Is this the public benefit of the EcoPark?

🚆 LUTHERVILLE STATION: Resolution 30-26 supports a State Transit-Oriented Development designation for the proposed project near the Light Rail station. The current concept includes 325 apartments and approximately 120,000 square feet of commercial space.

🔎 INSPECTOR GENERAL: Bill 78-26 would clarify language concerning the Office of Inspector General, including its ability to issue public reports.

Be informed. Be engaged. Be heard.

When I knock doors, I hear what people actually need.

Over the weekend, I spoke with neighbors and with Delegate Kim Ross about issues residents are experiencing with homeowners associations.

I support Delegate Ross’s legislation to establish a Baltimore County Commission on Common Ownership Communities. Residents deserve a local, constituent-focused resource to help them understand their rights, navigate disputes, and know where to turn when problems arise.

I would love to work with Delegate Ross on issues arising from homeowners, as well as the concerns I am hearing from residents in mobile home communities and members of condominium associations.

These are quality-of-life and housing issues that affect people where they live. County and state government should work together instead of sending residents from one office to another looking for answers.

That’s how we .

My child goes to Sollers Point and I am praying for these students.

However, my background includes working at the State Highway Administration and serving on a Complete Streets advisory committee in the City of Baltimore. I understand that safer roads require more than telling drivers to slow down. We need better-designed crossings, traffic-calming measures, appropriate signals and signage, improved lighting, sidewalks and Safe Routes to School investments.

What candidate has been talking about domestic violence?

I have.

Domestic violence isn’t simply a “women’s issue.” Domestic violence is CRIME. It is PUBLIC SAFETY.

And who has the support of our incoming State’s Attorney, Sarah David?

I do.

I spoke up when others were silent, even when the concerns involved my own councilman. Leadership means being willing to address difficult issues, regardless of who is involved.

We talk about crime on our streets, but public safety must also include the violence happening behind closed doors.

East Baltimore County deserves a representative who understands domestic violence, victims’ rights, housing, disability, prevention and accountability and who will bring that knowledge to the County Council.

It’s time for a woman’s voice, experience and knowledge on the Baltimore County Council.

Domestic violence is crime.

Baltimore County needs to do more and I have identified areas of im...

In Annapolis, relationships matter and so does being in the room.

Thank you to Delegate Scott Phillips for inviting me to this important event.

I arrived right after Governor Wes Moore. The Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus Delegate Phillips asked, “Do you know this young lady?”

The Governor said yes.

I planned to make a quick appearance, but I stayed to speak with legislative leaders and Maryland committee chairs about Essex, Middle River, and the needs of the East Side.

The East Side deserves its fair share.

We’re not running for titles. We’re running to make sure District 8 and Legislative District 6 are in the room when resources are on the table.

Proud to officially join the County Seal Democratic Club! 💙

I’m honored to be part of a club that brings together Democratic leaders, advocates, and neighbors committed to strengthening our communities on the East Side.

There’s power in showing up, building relationships, and working together. From Essex and Middle River to Dundalk and communities across eastern Baltimore County, we have an opportunity to organize, engage voters, and Elevate the East.

Thank you to the County Seal Democratic Club for the warm welcome. I’m ready to work! 💙💛

So my husband Artus and I have an announcement:

🎙️Vote Huffman x2 and everybody gets a $410 gift card and we’re renaming the Chesapeake Bay the HUFFMAN BAE! 🦀🌊 ❤️

Obviously, we’re joking. 😂 But someone once said, “People will say anything to get elected.”

We won’t.

Running for office isn’t a vanity project. It’s a sacrifice we make to leave our community better for our children and the next generation.

We can joke on the campaign trail but our commitment to public service is serious.

💙💛 Leave it better than we found it.
