TWO ARRESTED FOR AUTOMOBILE THEFTS AFTER PURSUIT
Shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, Englewood Police (EPD) responded to the 800 block of Southview Drive on a citizen complaint reference suspicious subjects checking vehicle door handles. The suspects were observed in a silver 2026 Ford Explorer, which was reportedly involved in similar activity in Vandalia hours earlier. Upon locating the suspect vehicle in the neighborhood, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and failed to comply with the attempted traffic stop. That vehicle was soon found unoccupied and abandoned on nearby Pebble Court, and later determined to have been stolen off Delbrook Drive in Harrison Township.
A second vehicle, a dark grey 2022 Ford Explorer was soon discovered, crashed and abandoned on Bearcreek Court and was determined to have been stolen from Pebble Court by the same suspects. EPD officers located the two suspects in the neighborhood and a foot pursuit ensued with the suspects ultimately fleeing south across I-70 and into a nearby commerce park. After establishing a perimeter in the area with assistance from Clayton PD and the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP), officers observed a grey 2012 Dodge truck pick up the two suspects and again fail to obey signals to stop the vehicle, nearly striking an EPD cruiser to evade apprehension. The suspects fled on eastbound I-70 from Hoke Road, with OSP pursuing the vehicle. The pursuit ended on Main Street near Forest Glen Avenue, when OSP Troopers utilized a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver.
The three occupants of the fleeing Dodge truck were initially taken into custody by OSP.
Kristian Daishaun Cochran Jr, age 18 of Dayton, has been incarcerated at the Montgomery Co. Jail on preliminary felony charges of theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property (motor vehicle), and failure to comply. According to Montgomery Co. court records, Cochran is currently under indictment for receiving stolen property (motor vehicle) and failure to comply, both 4th degree felonies, for an April 5, 2026 offense.
A 14-year-old male from Dayton has been incarcerated at the Montgomery Co. Juvenile Intervention Center on preliminary felony charge of theft of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor obstructing official business.
A third suspect, a 19-year-old female has been released pending further investigation.
This case, involving multiple jurisdictions and police agencies, remains under investigation and additional charges will be reviewed with the Montgomery County Prosecutorโs Office.
