PRECINCT 2, WE DID IT! 🇺🇸

I am incredibly honored and grateful for the support shown in this runoff election. Thank you to everyone who voted, encouraged, prayed, shared a post, made a call, or stood beside me throughout this journey.

This was a tough race, and I want to extend my respect and appreciation to Eric Christian. He is a great man who cares deeply about our community, and I appreciate the race he ran.

Now the campaign is over…the real work begins.

I’m excited and ready to get to work for Precinct 2 and all of Rains County. Together, we can continue building a stronger future for our community.

Thank you again for placing your trust in me. I’m ready to serve.

Attending today’s Rains County Commissioner’s Court meeting and reviewing the agenda for our county.

Commissioner Mike Willis also shared with me the letter he presented to the court announcing his retirement effective June 18th. Mike has faithfully served Precinct 2 and the citizens of Rains County for the past 15 1/2 years, and that kind of dedication deserves recognition.

I appreciate his years of service and the example he has set for our community. I hope to earn the opportunity to fill his shoes and continue serving the people of Precinct 2 with the same commitment and dedication.

A tip of the hat to Commissioner Mike Willis, and best wishes in retirement!

As the runoff for Precinct 2 heats back up, I want to take a moment to share what truly matters to me.

I have dedicated my life to public service, and my heart will always be anchored in serving our community.

If I am fortunate enough to earn your vote, I pledge to serve Precinct 2 with faith, integrity, and transparency…always striving to honor God in the way I lead and serve others. I believe leadership should be built on accountability, respect, and doing what is right for the people we serve.

This campaign is not about politics to me…it’s about people.

I would truly love to hear from you. Your thoughts, questions, and concerns matter, and I welcome every opportunity to listen to the people of Precinct 2.

Early voting begins next Monday, and I would be honored to earn your support and your vote in the runoff election.

I attended the Commissioners meeting this week to stay informed for precinct 2!

- Mrs Britney Hughes shared an update on Gunner’s Mission…their nonprofit paperwork is now complete, and they’re also actively applying for grants to support future projects.

- Poppers in the Park will be July 4th and the Veterans Parade that everyone loves is scheduled for November 7th.

Showing up, listening, and staying informed matters…and I’m committed to doing the work.

I attended this week’s Commissioners Court meeting to stay informed and engaged on the issues affecting our county.

We covered a full agenda focused on county operations and future planning.

I was glad to hear about the work Brittany Hughes is doing to launch Gunner’s Mission Dog Sanctuary, and to see April recognized as Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Also proud of Leslie Mosely and Sarah Lanham, two current Rains students for their success at nationals in Texas Association of Future Educators, led by Sherrie Cockrell.

I’ll keep showing up and doing the work for our community.

Another Commissioners Court meeting today, and I was truly honored to open it with the invocation. 🙏🏼

Today’s agenda covered several important items for our county, including community events at Heritage Park, subdivision and property matters, updates to county permitting and inspections, public safety considerations, the hiring of a part-time Fire Marshal, and agreements that help strengthen services for our residents.

Grateful for the opportunity to serve and to speak a word of prayer over the leaders and decisions that impact our community. May we continue to seek wisdom, unity, and guidance in all that we do. ✝️
