📢 COMMUNITY YARD SALE UPDATE! 📢

Due to the excessive heat and potential for thunderstorms, our Community Yard Sale has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 12th. ☀️⛈️

The City of Eminence has also moved its city-wide yard sale to September 12th, so we’ll be joining them on the new date!

Free Yoga Tonight at 6 PM! Looking for a way to destress and get out of the heat this evening? Come to the Henry County Public Library tonight at 6:00 PM for Slow Flow Yoga. The class is free and open to every one. All you need is a water bottle, we have the rest. Come out, meet some neighbors, and enjoy a relaxing hour of movement. Hope to see you there!

Mark your calendars now for these fun family events in September and help us spread the word by sharing this post and letting others know what program you're most excited about.

In addition to the return of Movers & Shakers and Story Time for little learners, all ages can join us for the following:

🖌️We’re kicking off fall Family Activity Nights with a painting project everyone can truly make their own, a positive vibes sun painting on canvas. All supplies will be provided by the library and we’ll be enjoying fun snacks while our projects dry. Please note you may stop by the meeting room anytime during the program, but must be at the library by 6:00 p.m. in order to complete your project before the library closes. Anyone under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required for anyone who will be painting to ensure we have enough supplies for this event. Register at https://zurl.co/iSLA9 today.

🧁Join us In the Kitchen for cupcake decorating! All ages are welcome to stop by the depot anytime between 3 and 5 p.m. to choose a cupcake to decorate. The library will provide all supplies. Please let us know by Saturday, September 12 if you plan to attend and your child has any dietary restrictions. Our next Learning Depot Pop Up will take place on Wednesday, September 30.

🍿All ages are welcome to visit and watch a movie on the big screen. Snacks will be provided by the library as we enjoy a feature film about a gang of toys who face a new challenge when introduced to electronics. Bring blankets and pillows from home to get comfortable during this laid back movie event.

And you can help us get ready for our first Halloween Costume Swap.

👻 Have you been looking for a reason to clean out your closet? Consider donating to our Children’s Costume Swap this month. The library will be accepting donations of new and gently used children’s costumes in all sizes starting Monday, September 14. Donations will be accepted until Thursday, October 1. Anyone who donates and wants to swap their costume for another will receive a ticket to the VIP swap hours on Friday, October 2 from 5-8 p.m. The Children’s Costume Swap will be open for everyone to “shop” on Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. or while supplies last. During shopping hours we’ll also have treats and a fun craft for the kids.

Our regularly scheduled school readiness programs will resume next month. Please note the time change from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

🎶Move, groove, and learn together at our fall session of Movers & Shakers. The program combines music and movement with early literacy and social skills practice to provide a well-rounded learning experience for infants, toddlers, and caregivers. It’s a great way to make new friends while learning through play.

📖 Meet weekly in the Children’s Area for books, activities, crafts, and more! This program combines reading, early literacy, and group participation to provide an experience for young readers. This program aims to give caregivers insight on the importance of reading to children and give confidence to do such. This program is a perfect way to make new friends and sharpen young minds!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25th at 10:30 am, join us at the Henry County Public Library for a free stretch and strength chair-based exercise class. Get moving, build strength, and feel great in a supportive, easy-to-follow group setting. All fitness levels are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and we recommend bringing water.
