Job Title: Special Education Teacher (SPED)
Location: Elsberry R-II School District (Building assignment based on need)
Start Date: August 14, 2026
Position Overview:
The Elsberry R-II School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. This position is essential in ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education through individualized instruction, meaningful accommodations, and a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
Provide direct instruction and support tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities
Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
Monitor student progress and use data to guide instructional decisions
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA and Missouri DESE requirements
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and related service providers
Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
Valid Missouri Special Education teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance requirements
Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
Commitment to supporting all students in reaching their full potential
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary based on the district’s teacher salary schedule, commensurate with experience
