A big thank you to the Elkton WAWA for their donation of several cases of water. As we start in to the summer season having bottled water readily available on scene of prolonged incidents becomes invaluable for our crews overall safety.

Today we had the pleasure to make a special presentation at East Rockingham High School. President Scott Lam presented Kennedy Voight with the Donnie "DL" Davis Memorial Scholarship.

Everyone looks for a way to make a difference during their lives. Some look to educate, some become leaders, and some give freely of their time to help others and a select few embraces all those qualities. For over 57 years Donnie Davis gave back to his community giving countless helping to educate firefighters and leading the organization both operationally and administratively.
In 2024 the membership decided to honor his memory by establishing the Donne Davis Memorial Scholarship. Donnie was a strong proponent within the company of education and always pushed our younger junior membership to do their best in their studies. Education was important to him, not just as it related to firefighting but also in general school studies. He always strived to make sure that our up and coming younger members understood how important a good education was.

Congratulations to Kennedy, we wish you the best as you continue your education next year.

Funds for this scholarship were raised through members efforts and no donations or public funding was used. See less

A beautiful spring afternoon allowed us to get outside for some hose line advancing training for our younger members and some pump training for some of the newer county firefighters assigned to our station.
