We’re very excited to announce our next capital project at Lynnewood Hall! A new roof for the Belinni-Cellini and Van Dyck Galleries!

The estate, having been left abandoned for twenty-five plus years, the elements have taken their toll on the roof of Lynnewood Hall. The worst area being the back section of the home which comprises of the Van Dyck Gallery and Bellini-Cellini Gallery.

The scaffolding is currently is going up around the back of the house in preparation for Kurtz Construction Co. () to come in and install a brand new copper and slate roof in these areas. We’re using the same materials that exist on the roof now to keep the historically accurate fabric intact.

Stay tuned for further updates on this project because we’re very excited about it!!

A year and a half after filming concluded, we are finally allowed to share our behind-the-scenes photos from Sight & Sound Theatres newest picture; A Great Awakening!

We are so excited to be able to share these images with you and will have many, many more to share on our Patreon Page soon.

Nobody has shot scenes for a feature length film at Lynnewood Hall since the silent film, Just Suppose, was filmed here in 1926. This was an experience that was so exciting and rewarding for us. The team at Sight & Sound was an absolute pleasure to work with and we hope to collaborate again in the future.

Our Executive Director, Edward Thome, and Site Manager, Tyler Schumacher, both even had small roles in the film! This was a fun and unplanned tradition to carry on as Lynnewood Hall’s Butler, William Turner, was featured in Just Suppose way back in 1926.

We are very much interested in seeing more films and TV shows use Lynnewood Hall as a location. Please let us know if you know of any opportunities! We have a few in mind already, including The Gilded Age on HBO!

This was an experience we will never forget and we all hope to do this again soon for many films! If you haven’t seen A Great Awakening yet, is in theatres NOW! Make sure you don’t miss it!

A heartfelt thank you to Greg Williams and the Lewistown Sentinel for telling the story of how Lynnewood Hall’s preservation journey began in their local community in Central Pennsylvania.

It’s incredibly meaningful to see this story come full circle in our own community.

If anyone is in the Lewistown, PA area, join us tonight at Miller Cinemas 6 for the local screening of A Great Awakening! 🎬 Meet Edward and Angie before the show and connect with Stone Arch Players and the The Historic Embassy Theatre.
