People have been asking me a simple question:

"What makes you different from the current mayor or from other politicians?"
It's a fair question.

The truth is, I don't believe what makes me different is simply having a different list of policies. Anyone can make promises.
What makes me different is how I approach problems.

Throughout my career, I've worked with families, young people, businesses, law enforcement, schools, churches, and community organizations. I've learned that real leadership starts with listening, observing, and understanding before making decisions.

I don't start with political ideology.
I start with one question:
What actually works?

I don't claim to have all the answers. I'd rather ask the right questions, bring the right people together, and build solutions that make Elkhart stronger.

I believe leadership is about solving problems, not winning arguments.
It's about building trust instead of division.
It's about looking beyond today's headlines and creating long term solutions for tomorrow.

If I'm honored to serve as your mayor, my goal won't be to prove I'm right.
My goal will be to help move Elkhart in the right direction.

Your Gift Opens Doors

"A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men." Proverbs 18:16

God has placed something unique inside each of us. Your greatest opportunity isn't found in chasing recognition. It's found in faithfully developing and using the gifts God has already given you.

When you serve others with excellence, integrity, and humility, the right doors will open at the right time.

Don't spend your life trying to impress people. Invest your life in becoming the person God created you to be.

Your gift will open the door. Your character will keep you there.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there.

This photo was taken of my dad and me in the Bahamas during a cruise many years ago. He passed away when I was in my early twenties, and every Father's Day I find myself wondering what our relationship would be like today.

I often think about the memories we never got to make, the conversations we never had, and especially what kind of grandfather he would have been. My oldest daughter had the opportunity to meet him, but she was too young to remember him. My other two children never got the chance.
Knowing my dad, I have no doubt he would have spoiled his grandkids and loved every minute of it.

Life reminds us that time with the people we love is a gift. If your father is still here, give him a hug, make the call, or spend some time together. If your father has passed on, I hope today brings back the good memories and reminds you of the impact he had on your life.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures. Thank you for the love, guidance, sacrifice, and example you provide every day.

Elkhart does not need more promises.
It needs a clear plan.

That's why my campaign is focused on 3 Fixes and 3 Builds.

The 3 Fixes
Fix Infrastructure, Traffic Flow, and City Planning

We need better roads, smarter traffic patterns, improved infrastructure planning, and development that supports growth without creating unnecessary congestion.

Fix Public Safety and Prevention
Public safety is about more than responding to crime. It means building trust, strengthening prevention efforts, improving mental health coordination, supporting community partnerships, and solving problems before they become crises.

Fix Economic Growth and Youth Opportunity
We must support local businesses, attract investment, create opportunities for young people, and give residents more reasons to stay, work, and build their future right here in Elkhart.

The 3 Builds

Build Elkhart 2.0
A modern city built on innovation, smart growth, strong infrastructure, and economic opportunity.

Build Stronger Community Connections
When neighborhoods, businesses, schools, churches, nonprofits, and residents work together, we create a stronger sense of belonging and civic pride.

Build a Responsive and Accountable Government.

City government should listen, communicate clearly, operate transparently, and focus on practical results that improve people's lives.

Fix what isn't working.

Build what comes next.

Together, we can move Elkhart forward.

There is a lot of discussion today about justice. Many people are calling for it, demanding it, and searching for it. But Scripture gives us a deeper understanding of what true justice really is.

Proverbs 21:3 says, "To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice."

Biblical justice is more than punishment. It is doing what is right according to God's standards. It means treating people fairly, defending the vulnerable, being honest in our dealings, and standing for truth even when it is difficult.

Judgment is the proper application of justice. It requires wisdom, discernment, and a commitment to facts rather than emotions. Justice without judgment can become chaos. Judgment without justice can become oppression. God calls us to both.

In a time when many are demanding justice, perhaps we should first seek to understand it the way God defines it. The goal is not simply to win arguments or defeat opponents. The goal is to establish righteousness, fairness, mercy, and truth in our communities.

As Psalm 89:14 reminds us, "Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne."
If justice and judgment are the foundation of God's throne, they should also be the foundation of our homes, our communities, and our leadership.
