The 1967 Elk City High School boys' basketball team made history and, as a result, holds multiple distinctions.

Coached by Jack Frazier, the '67 Elks—nicknamed the "Go Go Elks"—won the Class A Boys State Championship by beating defending state champion Wagoner 48 to 46.

The Elks reached the state finals by dispatching Skiatook and Comanche in the quarterfinals and semifinals.

According to "Elk City: Rising from the Prairie" by Lynn Kennemer and the Western Oklahoma Historical Society, the '67 Elks boys' basketball team was the first in school history to win a team state championship.

Additionally, while Elk City girls' basketball teams won state championships in 1973, 1985 and 1995, the '67 "Go Go Elks" team is, so far, the only Elk City boys' basketball team to win a state championship.

With distinctions as the first Elk City High School athletic team to win a state championship and the only Elk City High School boys' basketball team to win a state championship, the '67 Elks are historic.
