Recently, our State Rep did a victory lap for voting to ban cellphones in school (the illusions of governing). Meanwhile, school districts in Allegheny County and Washington County continue to face financial distress because of rising charter school costs (Rep. Kuzma took $5,000 from their lobby) and operating expenditures, health care costs, low state and federal funding, and uncertain property tax revenue

💰💰💰Kuzma’s cash:

“Andrew Kuzma took at least $5,000 from the Commonwealth Children’s Choice Fund, a school-choice PAC funded by Students First PAC, part of the broader Jeff Yass-backed school-choice network.”

It was a delightful evening spent with the Washington County Council of Democratic Women. Residents of Washington County often express feeling neglected and undervalued by the current elected Republicans. I welcome every chance to listen to these constituents and gain insight into their lives, occupations, families, and personal stories.

🌿 Andrew Kuzma voted NO on Ryan’s Law. Compassion shouldn’t be controversial.

Yesterday, the Pennsylvania House passed HB 2254, aka Ryan’s Law, by an overwhelming 174–27 vote. This legislation ensures that terminally ill patients can use medical ma*****na in hospitals and care facilities to manage their pain, stay alert, and spend precious time with their loved ones.

Read the bill: HB 2254 (Ryan’s Law) — https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb2254

Andrew Kuzma was one of only 27 “no” votes in the entire House.

Ryan’s Law is named for Ryan Bartell, a cancer patient facing the end of his life who was forced to leave Pennsylvania and travel out of state to access medical ma*****na. For Ryan, medical ma*****na was not about recreation; it was about having the chance to stay awake, lucid, and present with the people he loved most during his final days. No family should have to spend precious time navigating state lines and bureaucracy when they should be focused on comfort, dignity, and being together. That is the problem this bill fixes. And Kuzma said no.

Here’s what makes that vote even more out of touch: 72% of Pennsylvania Democrats and even 69% of Republicans support legalizing adult-use recreational ma*****na. And Kuzma couldn’t even get behind compassionate access for the dying.

PA-39 deserves better.

I support Ryan’s Law and full adult-use legalization because I understand that Pennsylvanians across party lines are ready for commonsense cannabis policy that puts patients and people first.

🚨 ⚠️ ICYMI - The Paul Miller’s Law became effective on June 5, 2025, making it illegal in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to use a hand-held cell phone while operating a motor vehicle. During the first year of the law, officers issued warnings only. Beginning June 6, 2026, violations will be subject to citation.

On June 01, 2026, as part of an effort to educate drivers and improve roadway safety, several South Hills police agencies are participating in a coordinated enforcement initiative along the Route 19 corridor.

During this initiative, officers will actively monitor for distracted driving and conduct traffic stops of drivers observed using handheld mobile devices, even while temporarily stopped in traffic, to provide education on the dangers of distracted driving.

I’m honored to earn the endorsement of Teachers Unify Action. 🍎📚

As someone who works in education, keeping our kids safe is not only personal to me, it’s literally my job.

Every student deserves to learn in an environment where they feel safe, supported, and valued.

We have to protect rights and protect lives, because no child should ever go to school and not come home. Period.

That means investing in mental health resources, supporting educators, addressing school violence seriously, and passing commonsense gun safety laws so criminals and the unwell can’t another Sandy Hook.

I’m proud to stand with educators, parents, and communities who believe our schools should be places of opportunity, safety, and hope.

Together, we can build a future where every child has the chance to thrive and be safe bell to bell. 🔔 ❤️ 🔔

Thank you to Teachers Unify Action for your support and for fighting every day for our students and educators.
