CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project Along Santa Anita Avenue and Peck Road, CIP NO. 040

Construction for the Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project Along Santa Anita Avenue and Peck Road, CIP No. 040 started on May 26, 2026, and will continue through September 3, 2026. The project areas include Santa Anita Avenue and Peck Road from city limit to city limit.

The purpose of this project is to complete pedestrian improvements, including roadway striping, removal and replacement of crosswalk striping, median nose reconstruction at a few locations, installation of traffic signal loops, and traffic signal equipment upgrades. Construction will take place during the day and night work will take place at non-residential locations. Daytime work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and nighttime work hours are from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Daytime work will consist of traffic signal equipment upgrades. Nighttime work will consist of crosswalk striping, concrete work at the medians, some pole relocations, and installation of traffic signal loops.

Construction Schedule:

• June 8th to July 2nd (night work)
• July 3rd to July 17th (day work)
• July 18th to September 3rd (night work)

Road and lane closures are expected throughout construction. Please expect delays and drive with caution.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE
 
Subject: Garvey Avenue Street and Drainage Improvement Project, CIP No. 884
 
 
Boudreau Pipeline Corporation will be working on the Garvey Avenue Street and Drainage Improvement Project, CIP No. 884 starting June 8, 2026 through July 31, 2026. The project site is located at the Garvey Avenue railroad underpass between Valley Boulevard and Durfee Avenue.
 
The proposed construction will complete the remaining work including relining the existing storm drains, constructing a new storm drain segment at the underpass for stormwater diversion to the adjacent infiltration basins, and street repaving.
 
• Normal construction working hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• At least one lane in each direction will remain open during normal working hours. All traffic lanes will be reopened at the end of the working day.
• The speed limit will be reduced to 25 MPH for this segment of Garvey Avenue between Valley Boulevard and Durfee Avenue.

Exciting progress is underway in El Monte!

The demolition phase has officially begun for a new commercial development that will bring three highly anticipated businesses to our community: Raising Cane’s, Dutch Bros, and In-N-Out Burger.

This project represents continued investment in El Monte and will create new opportunities for residents, visitors, and local economic growth. Construction is expected to continue over the coming months, with completion currently scheduled for early 2027.

Stay tuned for future updates as we continue building a stronger and more vibrant El Monte.
