Whether students get to school by bus, bike, or on foot, they deserve dependable and accessible infrastructure. These improvements will help strengthen safety around our schools and make it easier for students and families to navigate our community every day.

East Dundee: $250,000 to construct a new public sidewalk along North Van Buren Street and Wilmette Avenue, connecting school campuses to the existing sidewalk network.

Congratulations to our fire department!

East Dundee & Countryside Fire Protection District is proud to announce that we have been awarded a Small Equipment Grant from the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) in the amount of $21,820.00 for the purchase of Structural Firefighting PPE.

This funding will help ensure our firefighters have the protective equipment they need to safely serve and protect our community. Investments like these directly support firefighter safety, operational readiness, and the high level of service our residents expect and deserve.

We would like to thank the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal for their continued support of fire service agencies across Illinois.

Memorial Day means a little more to me this year.

Recently, I had the honor of visiting Pearl Harbor National Memorial and standing above the USS Arizona Memorial where so many American heroes made the ultimate sacrifice. As a Marine veteran, retired firefighter, and lifelong public servant, it was a moment I will never forget.

Seeing the names on the walls, the remains of the ship beneath the water, and the American flag flying above it all was humbling and powerful. It reminds us that freedom has always come at a cost.

This Memorial Day, let us remember the brave men and women who never came home. Their sacrifice gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day, and we owe them our gratitude not just today, but always.
