Ballots will go out tomorrow for the November 4, 2025 special election for Watertown residents living in Waverly School District. There is a renewal bond proposal on the ballot for Waverly. If you are on the permanent ballot list, you will automatically get a ballot in the mail. If you are not on the perm ballot list and wish to get a ballot, please contact our office and request an application.

Long-time Watertown Township resident, Gloria Miller turns 100 on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Her and her family have been a cornerstone to the community. She is a amazing human that deserves celebration. Happy Birthday Gloria! I can think of 100 positive things about you!

Recycling changes happening in Watertown Charter Township. The reality is, that everyone's time and effort is being wasted because the materials are not being recycled like they think due to significant on-going contamination. The Granger Wood Road drop-off site will continue to be open 24/7. Currently, 2/3 of Watertown residents already have curbside and the feedback received is that they love the single-stream collection right at their home.

A big high-five ✋️ to all the poll workers and my fellow election officials! It was a very successful election. 87% of Watertown Charter Township registered voters cast a vote in this election. It was higher than 2020. The voters, challengers, observers & exit pollsters in my precincts were all decent without incident. 🙏 Many were very complimentary. I couldn't have asked for a better day. My sincere appreciation to the 30+ election inspectors, security & parking detail that worked election day, early voting, and/or early AV ballot tabulation. They make it a success. Since I was on the ballot (running unopposed), I couldn't hang out in the precincts, which is hard for me... this is my super bowl. 🤩 I registered 17 voters, handled any issues, & oversaw the counting board. Finally, I couldn't do it all without the staff at the twp. Big shout out to my Deputy Clerk Christy and office manager Donna. THEY ROCK! Until next time....

Polls open at 7AM tomorrow and you must be in line by 8PM to vote. Watertown Twp has had 732 already vote in early voting and received 1,947 (93%) absentee ballots. Watertown always has a great turnout of voters!

Early In-Person voting begins today for all jurisdictions in Michigan. We have had a lot of calls & visits from voters interested in voting early. I think EV will finally catch on & perhaps reduce the long lines on election day. NOTE: all municipalities in Clinton County are utilizing county-wide sites. You will need to go to DeWitt or Bingham Twp. See hours on the picture!

If you have requested a ballot, you should see one arrive in the mail this week. Nearly 2,000 were mailed to Watertown residents, so far. Less than 5 weeks until the election!

Today is National Voter Registration Day. I will at the Grand Ledge Library registering voters this afternoon. If you know someone that isn't registered, please have them call their local Clerk or register at www.michigan.gov/vote.

The special interest group mail is hitting voters mailboxes AGAIN! This mail looks like it is official election mail but it from groups that are attempting to get people to register to vote or apply for a ballot. That might be helpful if they used data that targeted their intended group. Unfortunately, they send it people like the elderly couple that could barely walk that have voted 70+ years that came into the office yesterday. It is legal to send but is confusing, misleading, & creates more speculation by voters. Grrr! I hate to say it but it is basically junk mail. Check with your local Clerk if you have any questions. Trust mail that has the official logo in picture. Remember, no matter how many APPLICATIONS you receive from these groups, we will only process one after verifying signature and only send ONE BALLOT!

Three years ago I didn't think I would be attending table top exercises with law enforcement to protect our election workers. I have even been the target of threatening posts on social media just by thanking & acknowledging the new MI laws making it a crime to threaten, intimidate, or harass an election official. Oh, the irony! UGH

Election intimidation became the norm after the 2020 election. To shore up democracy’s defenses this year, officials across the country are increasing training and implementing new protections, such as erecting ceiling-high fences to safeguard workers.
