Eagan has had its own Juneteenth celebration only since 2024 but it has already become one of my favorite annual events! Thanks especially to Carmen Lewis, Stacey L Johnson, the entire Juneteenth committee, and their partners on city staff for the many months of preparation that it took to make today's four hours such a joyful celebration. Looking forward to next year!

Happy Fathers Day to the guy who has never stopped working to make life better for his family. I've seen Dad come home to our apartment exhausted from long days at construction sites, but still remembering to bring home Yoo-hoo for us kids and then rough-house with us until the sugar rush subsided. He built our house, where they still live, by himself and with his friends in the trades. He instilled in us how important his union (IBEW Local 3) was to our family's well-being. He has spent weekend hours beneath cars to keep them running. He somehow was able to send all three of us kids to college, something no one in his family had ever done. And now, at age 85, he's trying his best to care for Mom as she struggles with Alzheimer’s. Dad earned that title very early by today's standards, and still earns it every day. Love you, Dad!

The Mike Supina for Eagan Mayor campaign is privileged to have two Honorary Campaign Co-chairs who exemplify the values that ground us. Today we introduce Carmen Lewis.

Carmen D. Lewis is an Episcopal Deacon, pastor, activist, social entrepreneur, and restorative practitioner with more than two decades of pastoral and community leadership. As Executive Director of Black Brilliance, she advances healing, justice, and economic empowerment through culturally grounded leadership, restorative practices, and entrepreneurship. A nationally recognized speaker and strategist, Carmen equips communities, faith leaders, and organizations to build resilient, equitable futures rooted in collective healing, faith, and transformational leadership.
Carmen Lewis is a co-founder of Eagan's Juneteenth celebration.

Ran the Eagan parkrun today to prepare for next Saturday's Eagan 5k hosted by Eagan Kick-Start Rotary! No need to talk times, I'm just glad I ran the whole way and finished. The parkrun course is three circuits around Thomas Lake Park during which I am convinced some of those Burnsville cross-country runners lapped me multiple times.

Cal Cooper is retired from a distinguished career as a speech teacher, English teacher, debate coach, high school principal, and finally, a Presbyterian pastor. Cal is skilled at schooling people (e.g., our candidate) who think they know Scrabble how to really play Scrabble. Cal has resided in Eagan since 2017.
