🚫🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥🚫
Laurens County Fire Department
Due to exceptional drought conditions in our area, the Georgia Forestry Commission has issued a burn ban in 91 counties, including Laurens County. The existing drought conditions have left vegetation extremely dry, creating an environment where a small spark can quickly turn into a fast-moving, uncontrollable fire within minutes.
🚨 What does this mean for EVERYONE:
❌ All outdoor burning is prohibited — including, but not limited to:
• No yard debris or leaf burning
• No burn barrels or trash burning
• No land clearing or agricultural burns
• No campfires, bonfires, or fire pits
• Avoid grilling over dry grass or near wooded areas
• Do not discard ci******es on the ground
• No fireworks
• Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass (hot exhaust can ignite fires)
🔥 Important Reminder:
Even activities that seem safe can become dangerous under these conditions
We ask everyone to do their part by following this ban and helping prevent unnecessary emergencies.
If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.
Stay safe. Stay aware. 🚒
