This morning, Corporal Zach Miller and I, along with the North Hays County Fire Rescue were proud to partner together to provide safety protocol training and Stop the Bleed for the camp counselors of Coyote Kids Nature Camp at Dripping Springs Ranch Park.
This important training helps equip camp counselors with life saving skills, emergency response knowledge and safety preparedness to help create a safer environment for all campers this summer.

Thank you Dripping Springs ISD for hosting an important community meeting last night at Sycamore Springs Elementary School! We truly appreciate the opportunity for Deputy Constable Zach Miller and I, along with deputies from the sheriff's office, to come together with residents to discuss the laws, safety considerations, and shared responsibilities surrounding e-bikes and e-motorcycles. Open conversations like these help keep our community informed, aware, and safe. Grateful for the collaboration and commitment to public safety!

Today, I would like to recognize an extraordinary public servant whose commitment to honoring others defines true leadership.

After a distinguished 31-year career as a Sergeant with the Austin Police Department, Tim Kresta continues to serve our Dripping Springs community as a Hays County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable, but his impact goes far beyond the badge.

For the past 26 years, Tim has dedicated himself to organizing the Texas Peace Officers' Memorial Weekend. What began as a role of leadership has become a labor of love, as Tim now volunteers his time and energy each year to ensure this important tradition continues.

Through Tim's efforts, we honor the 25 Texas law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and whose names were added to the memorial wall this year. This memorial is more than just a ceremony, it is a sacred space where grieving families, colleagues, and community members come together. It provides comfort, connection, and a path toward healing after an unimaginable loss.

Tim's work helps foster deep respect and appreciation for the courage, sacrifice, and dedication required in law enforcement. Because of Tim, and the efforts of many others, their stories are remembered, their service is honored, and their families are never alone.

Please join me in thanking Tim for his unwavering committment, compassion, and his continued service to others.

Thank you Dripping Springs ISD for inviting me to be part of the groundbreaking ceremony to start the construction of High School #2 off Darden Hill Road last night. It was an honor joining you in celebrating this important milestone for our community. I appreciate the opportunity to share in such a meaningful event and look forward to seeing the positive impact this new school will have on students and families for years to come.

We've released a short video covering important e-bike safety tips, rules and laws to help keep our community safe. E-bikes are a fun and efficient way to get around, but riders must follow traffic laws, wear proper safety gear, and stay alert on the roads. Take a moment to watch and learn how to ride responsibly. Your safety, and the safety of others, starts with you.
