Fantastic turnout at our Legislative Coffee this morning! ☕️🍩 🇺🇸

We counted about 65 in attendance including 2 District Senators and 3 House Representatives all serving us between the rural Dodge City area and Garden City.

We heard from Americans for Prosperity about obvious reasons we should Vote Yes ✔️ to enable us, Kansas voters, to elect our Kansas Supreme Court Justices in our Judicial Selections Amendment that will be on our August primary ballet.

Then we received an update from Senators Ron Rykman and Bill Clifford and House Reps Jason Goetz, Gary White and Bob Lewis on all the important things going on and laws being passed in our Kansas Legislature.

Last week, Governor Laura Kelly vetoed Senate Bill 244, commonsense legislation to protect the privacy, safety, and dignity of Kansas women and girls.

Today, the Kansas Senate took decisive action.

By a vote of 31 to 9, the Senate voted to override the Governor’s veto and reaffirm the Legislature’s commitment to safeguarding women’s spaces and upholding clear, biologically grounded protections in state law.

This vote sends a strong message: Kansas families expect their elected officials to stand for privacy, fairness, and the rights of women and girls.

It will now move over to the House.

The Kansas Republican Party Platform details the bedrock beliefs of party members and is meant to be our compass in uncertain times.

Page 1 of the Platform includes our preamble and lists our core beliefs. The Republican Party position on these core beliefs is detailed in later pages and will be shared individually in later posts.

The 2026 Platform was adopted unanimously by the KS Republican Party State Committee on January 31, 2026. The State Committee is made up of delegates representing all four Kansas congressional districts as well as our statewide and federal Republican elected officials and Republican legislative leadership.

This is the first of a series of posts covering the Platform and is intended to inform voters of what Kansas Republicans stand for.

We've received the attached flyer informing us that our Dodge City High School Students are planning a "Walkout Protest" protesting our ICE officers. This is completely unacceptable. The message is clear. We do not fund student law enforcement protests with our tax dollars, plain and simple. We're asking everyone to contact our USD443 Superintendent Jason Sheck (620)371-1070, DCHS Principal Daniel Ackerman (DCHS phone number (620)471-2110) [email protected], DCHS Assistant Principal Michael Martinez ([email protected]), and our entire USD443 School Board (emails listed below). We apologize for the short notice, but this protest is scheduled for 9:20am Thursday February 12th via the flyer attached. Please take action asap.

Ford County was represented at the Kansas GOP Winter Convention this weekend by our Vice Chair Nikki Nagel and her husband Jeremy. They heard from several of the Republican Gubernatorial Candidates at our 1st District meeting along with our Attorney General, Secretary of State and Treasurer. They were also able to attend the first debate of the year. Hot topics such as the Economy, Property Tax Reform, Ma*****na legalization and much more were debated. Nikki will be giving a summary of the weekend at our next meeting to be announced soon. Stay tuned! We have a busy and exciting election year ahead! 🇺🇸
