Juneteenth marks the day freedom finally reached the last enslaved Americans in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It's a celebration of freedom, resilience, and progress, while also serving as a reminder that the work of expanding opportunity for every American continues.

Today, honoring Juneteenth means protecting economic opportunity, strengthening our democracy, and ensuring every family has the freedom to build a better future.

We knew Huizenga was in town — so we showed up! 🗣️ For Our Future, local veterans organizations, the Kalamazoo Visibility Brigade, and Indivisible groups across MI-4 came together to organize the accountability protest outside a fundraising event featuring Rep. Huizenga. He’s notorious for refusing to meet with constituents — so when we found out where he’d be, we mobilized. This is what constituent power looks like. 💪
