I guess it would be difficult to cram a 10 minute, in depth, meandering, phone interview into a easy to digest article for the local paper.
Deeply grateful for the time, energy and space in The Journal.
I have 1 edit.
The laaaast sentence he says I'm "hoping for the best" - what I actually said is that I remain Radically Hopeful.
I think it's an important distinction. To remain Radically Hopeful at a time when the system in which we are forced to operate is designed to hold us down, is essential.
•It is radical to remain hopeful when the goal of our health insurance companies is to DENY coverage.
•It is radical to remain hopeful when our rights are being violated by our own government.
•It is radical to remain hopeful while our EPA is choosing to NOT protect the land and the people that rely on it.
•It is radical to remain hopeful while a convicted felon is dismantling the integrity of our constitution.
➡️ So I urge you to remain Radically Hopeful.

The people have been heard in Maine Township, and the vote has passed to purchase a building for their food pantry. The house was packed with caring citizens and hard working volunteers. Love to see the humanity.

You heard us: Lee & Oakton, May 1st @ 4pm. Keep showing up in even bigger and bigger numbers. We know there’s a lot going on, but there’s enough insanity in this country that we should be on the streets DAILY. We cannot grow complacent—work in multiple directions: making our presence known in solidarity AND building community care AND participating in civil disobedience. We have to say no to the system if we want it to change.
