So after a lot of consideration I've decided to drop out of the race for the school board. Unfortunately that isn't really possible so all I can say is don't vote for me and don't vote for one of the incumbents

Hello, Derby neighbors! I’m Josh Fredrick, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for the USD 260 School Board.

I’ve called the Derby area home for over 10 years. As an uncle to two nieces and a nephew, I care deeply about the quality of education and the future of our schools. My diverse educational journey—from studying theater at Hutchinson Community College to earning my EMT certification and A+ Essentials in IT—reflects my belief that learning never stops and should open doors for every student, no matter their path.

I’m running to promote transparency in government, enhance curriculum, and stand firmly with our teachers. I believe parents, students, and educators deserve a clear voice in how our schools are run.

Beyond education, I stay active in Leading Kansas and contribute to our local film and theater community. I’m committed to bringing creativity, accountability, and a passion for lifelong learning to the board.

Let’s work together to make Derby schools the best they can be!
