Overnight, Quint 15 arrived as the second due speical assignment for box 1233

In the early morning hours of 02/17/2026 Q15 was alerted for firebox 2701. Volunteer Hose Co. Arrived as the First Due Engine with smoke showing from a business.
Q15 promptly made the response with a crew of 5 arriving as the Second Due Special. Q15 completed secondary searches as well as opened up for the Engine Companies.

Engine Co. 15 has been hard at work throughout this storm assisting our mutual aid partners while still responding on fire calls.

In large weather events, local fire companies will opt to send additional manpower to assist EMS.

Thank you to DelDot, New Castle County Paramedics, Town of Delaware City & everyone else who has kept our communities running during this snowfall.

Crews responded lastnight to box 1500 for a residential fire on Washington st in town. Engine 15 arrived assuming the first engine with their own hydrant in front of the house. Deputy 15 arrived assuming Delaware City command, reporting fire on both floors and attic. Engine 15 had 4 hand lines charged and in operation throughout the fire. A second alarm was transmitted by command requesting more resources to assist during an extended operation.
This residence was constructed in 1870, with a balloon frame construction. Creating many void spaces for crews to access fire to extinguish. Units operated for approximately 3 hours before returning to service.

Quint 15 & 15-8c along with mutual aid companies handled a vehicle off the roadway with 1 occupant trapped.

Delaware City Fire Company is proud to announce that it officially placed in service a brand new 2025 Pierce Saber Pumper. This process began as a discussion with Brian Bashista in the fall of 2020. After many emails, meetings, phone calls, and budgeting discussions, we are excited to see this unit go in service and serve Delaware City and New Castle County. This process has been challenging to say the least, but it is with the hard work and dedication of the officers, career staff, members and especially the Apparatus Committee that I present to you Engine 15!!
