Habitat for Humanity of Greater Volusia County R U Ready? Providing a Safe and Decent Place to Live

For the past 25 years, Halifax Habitat for Humanity Inc. Habitat is not a give-away program.

(Halifax HFH) has been building affordable homes with families in need. Since 1986, Halifax HFH has built 118 new homes and renovated five. Thanks to those efforts, 133 families, including more than 350 children, now have a safe and decent place to lay their heads down at night.

Halifax Habitat for Humanity: Building throughout the Halifax area, Ormond Beach, Holly Hill, Daytona Beach, South Daytona and Port Orange. Founded in 1986 by a steering committee - Bernard Strasser, Boots and Millie Middleton, Dorothea Tonnesen and Judge Hubert Grimes. We are blessed by the continued commitment and support of founders Millie Middleton Swale, Bernard Strasser and Jim Phillips. Families contribute hundreds of "sweat equity" hours toward their home and other homes. When the home is completed, Habitat sells the home to the family at no profit and provides a zero-interest mortgage. All mortgage payments are used to support the building of additional Habitat homes. Ten percent of local donations are contributed to HFHI for overseas builds. Our faithful contributions have build 136 additional homes throughout the world.
