John Schaefer began donating blood in 1970. More than five decades later, his commitment to helping patients has carried him to his 200th donation.

Tim Wood’s journey began when his cousin, Laura, needed blood while undergoing treatment for leukemia. At just 15 years old, Tim stepped up to help. With AB-negative blood and so few donors sharing his type, his decision to give was especially meaningful. We are proud to celebrate Tim’s 100th donation.

For years, Chris Fields wanted to donate blood. But because he grew up in Germany, previous eligibility guidelines prevented him from giving.

When those guidelines changed, Chris finally had the opportunity he had been waiting for. He arrived excited to make his first donation and left already looking forward to his next. ❤️

Joan’s journey to 50 donations began with one person close to her heart: her late brother, Robert Rosencrans, former mayor of the City of Moraine.

Joan began donating blood in Robert’s memory. Over time, that personal tribute grew into a commitment to donating platelets and helping as many patients as she could.

She continued showing up, donation after donation, carrying her brother’s memory with her each time.

Now, Joan has reached her 50th donation. This milestone represents more than a number. It is a story of love, remembrance and a commitment to helping others.

Congratulations, Joan! Thank you for allowing Robert’s memory to inspire hope for patients and for helping Dayton keep giving. ❤️

The moment James Wilson turned 16, he couldn’t wait to give blood.

For James, donating is deeply personal. His grandmother, Debra Arrington, was a longtime donor who inspired him through her generosity. After Debra passed away from a rare form of cancer in 2022, James continued giving in her honor, carrying her legacy forward with every donation.

Recently, James made an even greater commitment by becoming an apheresis platelet donor. The process takes more time, but its impact can be life-changing for patients in need.

Today, James is celebrating his 25th donation milestone and an incredible 75 lives saved.

James is more than a volunteer and a familiar face to our donors. He represents the courage, compassion, and generosity of a true hero.

Congratulations, James! We are deeply grateful for your service and the remarkable legacy you continue to build. ❤️
