Here's a little bit about Gary in his own words:

"What I enjoy most about working at Goodman JFS is the opportunity to help our community and make an impact on the clients I work with. I love being able to make them leave with a smile.

What sets Goodman JFS apart is the strong companionship we have here. Everyone works together, and we all need each other to be able to do our jobs.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about spending time with friends and family and taking care of my two cats. 🐱

Yesterday we celebrated Holocaust Survivor Day with what was truly a remarkable and historic gathering.

125 Holocaust survivors joined us for the celebration, including 8 centenarians who are 100 years old or older, alongside another 125 caregivers, family members and friends. To honor these individuals, hear their stories and celebrate their resilience is a privilege that reminds us why this work matters so deeply.

What makes this event even more meaningful is how it began. In 2023, it started with a simple list of 10 survivors turning 100+ and a small staff gathering to induct them into our Centenarian Club. Since then, we have inducted 38 additional survivors and watched this initiative grow into the powerful celebration we witnessed yesterday.

And the best part? Some survivors are already looking forward to earning their Gold Medal next. 💙
