📣 Darien Lakes State Park’s campground opens Friday, May 15th!

❓ Camping or wish to? Here's what you need to know:

🚗 All sites are back-in, please stay on the gravel pad as the season has made the lawn wet this season thus far!

📅 All reservations for campsites go through ReserveAmerica.com and can book up to 9 months in advance.

🕒 Same day reservations can be made through ReserveAmerica.com before 3pm.

⛺ Occupancy for each site is a 6 person maximum, if you have a larger group you will have to book more than one site.

🌲 Primitive camping option available to book.

🐕 There are no designated pet loops in the campground. You can have up to two pets per site. Proof of rabies vaccination is required at the time of check-in.

🌐 Any changes to your reservation prior to your arrival goes through ReserveAmerica.com. Any changes the day of or during your stay is through the park.

🌻As the weather phases into the spring season, New York State Park trails turn into muddy season!

🌨️Everyone wants to be spending the glorious days outside and though people are ready, our trails have not had time to recover from winter.

👣Most trail systems in NYS Parks in and around the Genesee valley are natural tread, meaning they were carved through the material present.

📝Here are some helpful tips to follow before you begin your hike…

👟Wear snug shoes that don't slip off easily and that you are ok getting dirty/ruined.

🧦Bring an extra pair of shoes, socks and clothes for after the hike!

🚶As a trail steward, it is important to stick to the trail, even if it's really muddy so trails don't continue to widen.

💟Registration is now open for I Love My Park Day on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026!

💗I Love My Park Day (ILMPD) is an annual event that brings together thousands of volunteers to enhance and celebrate New York's amazing parkland.

🖊Tasks to be completed will include cleaning out flower beds of sticks and debris from the winter, laying down mulch, planting flowers, and perhaps campsite cleanup.

👜Receive a complimentary commemorative 2026 I Love My Park Day tote bag with your volunteer service while supplies last.

👀All New York State Parks in and around the Genesee Valley are taking part in ILMPD which includes Darien Lakes State Park, Genesee Valley Greenway, Hamlin Beach State Park, Lakeside State Park and Letchworth State Park.

🥾 New activities for all ages celebrate the spring sun, lakes, waterfalls, even the mud at local New York State parks in 2026!

🐻This spring, Darien Lakes State Park has new Home Ecologists for homeschoolers, the Secret Life of the Lake, Meet a Tree, Nature’s Sit Spot, a night hike to find the elusive “Labrador twister,” a chance to get trained to recognize and remove invasive plants for the day , and of course the increasingly popular Forest Buddies kids nature programs.

🎣 Smash hit festivals launched in just the past few years are better than ever, like Get Outdoors and Get Together Day and of course the action packed Bass Mania Fishing Derby. Bring Dad to the first ever Father’s Day Co****le Tournament and celebration!

🌼Just a HOPPY reminder...

🐰Come join us for our very first EGG - stravagant Easter celebration!

🙌🏻This event will take place on March 28th from 1pm - 2pm.

☀️This is an outdoors event so be prepared and dress accordingly!

🛝Meet at shelter 2 near the new playground!

🐣Activities will include Bunny hop sack races, an Egg and spoon relay and an Easter egg hunt.. as well as a special guest appearance from the Easter bunny himself!

💛Help us ring in the spring season by enjoying some Easter festivities!
