This past Saturday, we joined 30 wonderful youth from our community in a violence prevention event, G.A.M.E. ON! Against Violence.

The youth learned skills that promoted teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, healthy expression, emotional regulation, and what it means to be a positive citizen in our community.

Thank you to DHS track and field team for engaging with the youth participants and being role models for them.

Thank you to Project Success for bringing two representatives of the Youth Council members to be living examples of the next generation of impactful community leaders.

Thank you to Brittany from Crosspoint for encouraging our athletes to look at what it truly means to be a part of a team off the court by recognizing each other's strengths and how we can all contribute to a safe community.

Thank you to all of the on-court coaches for spending your time not only teaching skills for different sports, but helping align the event's mission of:

Good choices
Awareness
Mindful actions
Empowerment

Thank you to Mikala Hall-Robinson for coming home and bringing your husband, Andre Robinson, to talk with and show these kids that the skills learned from G.A.M.E. ON! can transfer off the court and out of the classroom into their community.

When we all work together, we can help shape these youth and provide strong representation of positive role models.
