Support these local dancers, as well as arts opportunities for ALL Boyle County students, by purchasing tickets to see Lexington Ballet's "The Nutcracker" this weekend at Boyle County Performing Arts Center!
When the curtain rises on the Lexington Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” this weekend, several familiar faces will appear.
Fifteen local dancers from Kelley Puckett Dance Academy (KPDA) will perform alongside the Lexington Ballet Company during its annual production of “The Nutcracker.”
“We are delighted to be able to participate in this historic event at the Boyle County Performing Arts Center,” said Kelley Puckett, owner of KPDA. “Little girls and boys who love to dance dream of being able to perform ‘The Nutcracker’ during the holiday season, so this is a dream come true for so many of our students.”
KPDA dancers in the production range in age from 7 to 13 and attend 11 different schools. Many cast members have been dancing since they were 3 or 4 years old.
“Working with Lexington Ballet artistic and executive director Luis Dominguez has been a wonderful experience for everyone involved,” said Puckett. “We have been collaborating since last spring, so it’s exciting to see the fruits of our labor come to fruition in the coming days.”
The Boyle County Education Foundation, Inc. presents the Lexington Ballet Company’s “The Nutcracker” at the Boyle County Performing Arts Center for one student performance on Friday, Dec. 3, as well as two public performances, one later Friday evening at 7 p.m. and one on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m.
Tickets to the two public performances are on sale at bocopac.com.
