Today, the BCDC Community Inmate Work Crew received the Excellence in Preservation Education Award from the Danville Architectural Heritage Board. This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and positive impact state inmates are making while serving their time at Boyle County Detention Center.

Through their efforts, they are not only contributing to the preservation of our community’s history but also gaining valuable skills, a sense of purpose, and a sense of accomplishment. This program continues to demonstrate that rehabilitation and community service can go hand in hand.

We’re grateful to the Danville Architectural Heritage Board and proud of the men who earned this honor through their commitment and effort.

Today, even in less-than-ideal weather, our Inmate Community Work Program team stepped up to serve.

Working alongside Junction City’s Maintenance Department, they helped prepare the cemetery for Memorial Day honoring those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Their commitment reflects something deeper than the task at hand: respect, responsibility, and a willingness to give back to the community.
Proud of the work being done in the rain or shine.

We’re proud of the BCDC Inmate Community Work Crew for stepping up and making a difference in our community.

Today, the crew tackled a cleanup effort behind Nesco Resource and the Urgent Care area, where an illegal dump site and campsite had created safety, health, and environmental concerns.

What they accomplished in just a short time was nothing short of impressive.

This work not only helps restore our community spaces but also gives these individuals an opportunity to give back, learn responsibility, and be part of something positive.

A cleaner community is a safer community, and this is what teamwork and accountability look like in action.

Thank you to everyone involved in supporting efforts like this. It matters. Thank you, Cpl. Chad Green.
