Motion to reduce bond, Denied, denied, denied.
Did not affect this Judge, that within the motion, it explained the Law described that the circumstance, they were holding Michael Hanson in, dictated a reduced bond, or release on a personal recognizance Bond. The precedence in the Law, would not Stop her court from prosecuting this defendant.
Normally, this type motion would be requested, and the Prosecutor for the case, would argue one way or the other.
Not in this Judges court, she handled the prosecution herself.
After that denial, the Public defender quit the case.
And the Dallas County Public Defender's office filed a notice with the 282 district court, that they would no longer work with indigent people in that Court.
So, the Judge appoints a new Lawyer, rather than face the issue that caused the Public Defender's Office from refusing to work with her on cases assigned to her court.
This very action, on this particular case, by the Dallas County Public Defenders Office as a whole, most likely is the very reason that scores and scores of Defense Attorneys have moved to remove their clients from her court.
