W. H. Adamson High School is so lucky to have an amazing principal leading the way! Thank you, Principal Rodriguez, for your hard work and for being an inspiration to our entire community. Your impact does not go unnoticed, and we appreciate everything you do for our students.

We lost a feminist icon and a hero of mine at the age of 92 last night. Gloria Steinem was a giant of the women's rights movement. The fight for reproductive freedom, equal pay, and domestic equality received widespread national attention in part because of her journalistic and leadership skills.

Through her relentless organizing and commitment to coalition building, she helped reshape laws, transform culture, and helped millions of women find their voice. She was a true trailblazer for women like me and my women colleagues of the Texas Legislature.

Her legacy lives within all of us still fighting for reproductive freedom, equal access to health care and the end of gender-based violence.

Rest in power Gloria Steinem 💕

Happy birthday to my life partner and friend, Angela. ❤️

We met at the Texas Capitol, fighting side by side for LGBTQ+ equality — and somehow, before we knew it, we were getting married during the 2021 Democratic quorum break while fighting for voting rights. Honestly, it was very fitting. 🏳️‍🌈❤️

Life has taken us on quite a journey since then, with plenty of highs, challenges, laughter, and memories along the way. I’m grateful for every chapter we’ve shared and for having you by my side through it all.

Here’s to many, many more birthdays together — and to continuing the fight we started together, committed to equality, justice, and a better Texas for all.

Happy birthday, Angela. I love you. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Women's Equality Day is a bittersweet recognition of how far we've come, and yet, we still have so far to go to make our Texas government one we deserve, one that works for us too.

Texas is a dangerous place to be a woman - this must change. We owe it to future generations of Texas women to look toward the brighter, safer, fairer Texas on the horizon. It will take courage and hard work to get us there, but I know we can get there with your help.

Today, we honor the women who fought for our fundamental rights, from winning the right to vote to securing financial independence. But honoring their legacy means continuing their fight.

Women still face systemic economic barriers, healthcare disparities, and lack of bodily autonomy. Today and every day, the fight continues for equal pay, federally mandated parental leave, full access to reproductive healthcare, and an end to gender-based violence.

The work is far from over, but the LGBTQ Caucus will fight every day for the rights of all women.

Senate Bill 12 (2023) is unconstitutional.

This decision isn't just a victory for our community and our artists; it's a victory for the Constitution. Constitutional rights belong to every Texan, regardless of who they are, who they love, who they voted for, or how they express themselves.

Proud of our hometown & Texas team. Haters would rather cheer for the out-of-state team over the ONLY TX team in the WNBA because of politics. Send the hater and her fans back to Indiana with a loss.

This morning, I sent a letter to the Dallas County Commissioners Court expressing my support for today's agenda item to name the community room of the Oak Cliff Government Center after our neighbor and friend, Sylvia Collins.

Thank you, Elba Garcia, for proposing this measure, and to the court for supporting it. Sylvia's legacy will always live on through the lives she touched. Now, because of this honor bestowed by the Dallas County Commissioners Court, future generations of Oak Cliff residents will see her name and forever remember her impact on our community.

Welcome back to school, Dallas ISD and Grand Prairie ISD! I know this year will be one for the history books. To every student: Congratulations and best wishes on the start of a new school year!

Endless possibilities are on the horizon for our young Texans this school year. It's up to us adults to do everything we can to give them the tools and support they need to succeed.

To every education professional returning to work tomorrow, and every adult supporting their student in the new school year: From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you do to help our young people reach for the stars.

This past Saturday marked the annual Pasos for Oak Cliff Back to School Drive. As a sneakerhead, this event was a big deal to me. I was lucky enough to help students pick their cool new shoes for the school year!

Through their hard work and passion for community service, Pasos for Oak Cliff volunteers and their partners provided 450 children with new pairs of shoes and backpacks for the school year! Pasos is just one example of the incredibly generous spirit shared by folks within our larger HD 104 community.

It was my honor to sponsor this wonderful event and its first ever Lucha Libre! Thank you to all the volunteers, to Adamson High School for hosting, and the generous partners who made this event possible.
