Join us in celebrating Vice President of Programs, Lisa Martinez, for an incredible 20 years of service to Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County and the children and families we serve. 💙

Over the past two decades, Lisa has made an extraordinary impact on our mission. Widely known as an expert in her field, her leadership, programmatic vision, and ability to streamline processes have strengthened our services and helped us reach more children in meaningful ways.

Just as importantly, Lisa has built deep, lasting relationships with our multidisciplinary partners, who trust and rely on her expertise, knowledge, and collaborative approach. Lisa has become a trusted mentor to many, generously sharing her knowledge and helping others grow in their roles.

Lisa started her career as a bilingual forensic interviewer, which continues to be where her passion lies. In addition to conducting forensic interviews and training forensic interviewers throughout the country, Lisa has moved into a leadership role overseeing the majority of our direct client programs. We are deeply grateful for Lisa’s two decades of leadership, excellence, and unwavering commitment to our mission.

We are incredibly thankful to Life at Marsh McLennan Agency for partnering with us for an Earth Day beautification event at our Speese Campus in McKinney! Their team donated flowers, trees, and soil, and volunteered their time and hard work to pull weeds, plant greenery, and spread mulch across the campus.

We also want to thank The Organic Recycler of Texas for generously donating mulch for the project, along with snacks and water that helped keep our volunteers fueled throughout the day.

We appreciate these community partners for helping create a beautiful and welcoming space for the children and families we serve!

Every child processes trauma in their own way. When children cannot safely or clearly express what they are feeling, their distress often appears in behavior. Some children communicate pain outwardly through anger or impulsiveness. Others internalize their pain, becoming quiet, anxious, or withdrawn.

Whether distress is external or internal, both are valid responses to overwhelming experiences. Recognizing these patterns helps adults respond with empathy rather than punishment and provide the support children need to heal.

Last week, in partnership with our friends at Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc., we were proud to host Partners in Courage: Honoring Legislative Leadership. This special event celebrated Senator Angela Paxton, Representative Jeff Leach, and Representative Candy Noble for their outstanding leadership and steadfast commitment to protecting child victims of crime during the 89th Texas Legislative Session.
