Congratulations to City of Murphy City Secretary Susie Quinn on her nomination for 2023 Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year!
Susie Quinn has been nominated for this recognition by the TMCA Lone Star Chapter. “I applaud Ms. Quinn for her dedication to our profession,” wrote Allen Deputy City Secretary Rocio Gonzalez, chair of the chapter’s Clerk of the Year Committee. “Not only has she mentored many in the Lone Star Chapter, North Texas Chapter, and Bluebonnet Chapter across Texas, but as a member of IIMC, internationally as well. She leads by example with integrity, demonstrating she is a true servant leader in her community, our chapter and TMCA.”
Susie Quinn has served as the city secretary for the City of Murphy since 2014. She was previously the city secretary for the cities of Rowlett (2002-2011), Azle (2000-2002), Tye (1999-2000), and Eastland (1993-1999). She earned her Texas Registered Municipal Clerk Certification in 1996 and has recertified five times. Susie has been a member of TMCA for 27 years, during which she served three years as an Executive Board trustee and served extensively on committees. She co-founded the TMCA Bluebonnet Chapter and served as their 1995 president. Susie has also held all offices, including president, in both the Lone Star Chapter and North Texas Chapters.
The selection of the 2023 Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year from among the 16 nominees will be announced at the TMCA Awards Banquet on October 26 in Frisco.
Each year Texas municipal clerks nominate their peers for the prestigious Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year Award. To be eligible for the award, a nominee must have provided service to other municipal clerks on a local level or state level; must have exhibited leadership abilities; and must be a municipal clerk, a member of TMCA, and hold the Texas Registered Municipal Clerk certification.
