🚧 Downtown Pavement Marking Work

The City of Forney Streets Department will update pavement markings throughout Downtown Forney beginning tonight, September 14, at about 7:30 p.m. Work may continue the evening of September 15. Drivers may encounter temporary overnight closures as crews move through the area. Please use caution while work is underway.

Effective today, September 14, the City of Forney is using JustFOIA, an online portal for submitting public information requests.

The new system provides a simpler submission process, an updated and easy-to-navigate interface, and clearer request categories to help ensure requests are directed to the appropriate City department.

Frost Bank is coming to Forney! 🎉 This week, Frost Bank celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Forney Financial Center near U.S. Highway 80 and Gateway Boulevard. The new full-service location is expected to open in early 2027, bringing another great resource and community partner to Forney. We’re excited to welcome Frost Bank and look forward to seeing this new addition take shape!

This morning, Frost Bank hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Forney Financial Center, located near U.S. Highway 80 and Gateway Boulevard. The new financial center will bring a full-service Frost Bank location to Forney, with an opening anticipated in early 2027.

We’re excited to welcome another great option to Forney and a new community partner!

Atmos Energy crews and contractors will be in the Forney area Thursday, September 10 through Saturday, September 12, conducting routine natural gas safety surveys.

Residents may see Atmos Energy vehicles driving slowly along streets and alleys between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews monitor the natural gas system for potential leaks. This is part of Atmos Energy’s routine safety and maintenance efforts.

The City of Forney has received concerns about individuals offering in-home water testing and claiming or implying they represent the City or a water utility.

Residents should be aware that some representatives may use language that makes them appear to have official authority or suggest that water testing is urgent or necessary to pressure homeowners into allowing access to their homes or purchasing a service. The City of Forney does not charge residents for water testing. Any water testing offered by an outside company is voluntary and is not conducted by the City.

Door-to-door solicitors in Forney are required to have a valid solicitor’s permit and display proper identification. Residents should not feel pressured to make an immediate decision or allow someone into their home.
