I’m gonna take this stance because not enough Trump supporters are.
As a conservative, a Trump voter, and a United States Marine Corps veteran, I believe in law and order—but also in common sense and basic human decency.
What I’m seeing with some of these ICE deportations feels like we’ve lost the plot.
We should absolutely be removing individuals who enter our country illegally with no intention of following our laws—especially those committing additional crimes. But the focus should be on criminal illegal aliens—not the kid who came here at 9 years old and is doing everything he can to become legal.
That kind of enforcement doesn’t make us safer—it just makes the system look broken and cruel.
Now, if you’re an adult who knowingly entered the U.S. illegally, made no effort to follow the law, and have no intention of becoming a legal citizen—yes, you should be taken from your home, your job, or off the street if necessary. You made a decision to break the law, and if you refuse to fix it, there are consequences. We can’t let inaction and defiance slide just because the process is hard. Our laws mean something—or they mean nothing.
And while we’re talking about law and order: violence, looting, and destruction of property are not protest—they’re crimes. Burning cars, smashing businesses, or assaulting people because you don’t like the system doesn’t win anyone to your side. It erodes your credibility and further divides this country. That kind of behavior deserves to be called out and punished—just like any other crime.
We need serious immigration reform. A fair, enforceable, merit-based system that allows people to come here the right way, while protecting the integrity of our country. We can’t take everyone—but we can treat people with dignity while staying firm in our standards.
This nation can be tough on crime and compassionate toward those trying to do right. That’s not weakness—that’s wisdom. And that’s what real leadership should look like.
