Daleville-Salem Township Fire Protection Territory

Daleville-Salem Township Fire Protection Territory Established in 1912 as a bucket brigade our department covers 35 square miles of fire response territory and 45 square miles of EMS response territory.

We have seen many changes over the past 113 years, but our traditions will always stay the same. The purpose of this site is to present matters of public interest related to the Daleville Salem Township Fire Protection Territory, including the many residents, businesses, and visitors to our area. Once posted, the DSTFPT reserves the right to delete submissions that contain vulgar language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, or religious group. We never take a day off and always try to take advantage of days like today for training. We have trained hundreds of hours this year building knowledge and skillsets, but routine practice is what keeps us and the community safe. At approximately 815pm Daleville-Salem Township Fire Protection Territory was dispatched to a possible residential fire....

At approximately 815pm Daleville-Salem Township Fire Protection Territory was dispatched to a possible residential fire. Upon arrival, the first units identified smoke and flames showing from the rear of the house. With a quick attack and ventilation crews were able to keep the fire contained to one room of the structure and saved the house. Unfortunately we were unable to revive two adult cats after CPR was initiated for the animals, but we were able to save the kittens. No major injuries to report. All units marked inservice right before midnight.

It was a day that changed America forever and brought the largest changes to the public safety family. The lives lost, the changes we still adjust to today and the strength we all felt in that moment as a nation will never be forgotten. As we go into 9/11/2026, 25 years later, we tip our helmets to those that we will never forget and we stand tall with those that are still fighting the aftermath today. From Daleville, Indiana to the entire nation, We stand with you forever. God Bless.
