So happy they were able to help

They say that no two days in policing are ever the same.

New recruit Cst. Pickles and his coach officer Cst. Peddie rescued this lil injured guy in Wasauksing and brought him to the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Rosseau for some TLC.

Miigwech to the homeowner who discovered him, wrapped him in a towel, and kept him safe until we could get there.

We have to admit, it was hard to hand him over; we were already so fawn’d of him. 🦌

Our hearts break for every bird that we receive who has been dyed for a gender reveal celebration. The toxic fumes compromise their lungs, they’ve ingested poison while preening their feathers, they’ve been rejected by flocks, and they are more vulnerable to prey. There are so many alternatives for a celebration of life, we don’t need to hurt animals along the way.

IT’s hunting season…There will be hounds around… Owners will be happy to come get their dogs if you call them.. These dogs have homes..they are fed... They can look skinny after a couple days of running lost without food.. Yes, it can happen that fast.. Help them get home where they can be fed...

DO NOT REMOVE THEIR COLLARS! IT IS A FELONY!

That funny looking collar is a tracking collar.. Not a shock collar... This means someone is looking for them! This is what these dogs look forward to.. (no, you can not force a dog to hunt.. They do that because they want to). You are not saving a dog or rescuing one if you take one and try to rehome it.. You're stealing someone's dog. Which is also a felony. Some of these dogs will appear shy or timid... That's because you aren't their owner, not necessarily because the dog has been abused... Most of the time is from not being socialized with people. I know everyone has good intentions, but a little information to help everyone make the right decision might save some heartache for someone else.

PLEASE COPY & PASTE TO GET THE WORD OUT!!
***NOTE*** incase anyone is camping this Fall/Winter/Spring and finds a dog. It will have a phone number on the collar💚

One time kinda deal as we don’t rescue cats. However someone brought this 3 week old kitten to us to bottle feed as it was attacked by an animal. Unfortunately it refused to eat survived two days and sadly passed away. Rip little one 🐱 🌈
