Good morning Crystal City!
Last night a special Council meeting was held .
We had a good, informative presentation by E3. ( I will share more info on that soon)

Then we went on to swear in our new Councilmen- Joel Barajas & Patrick Flores.
As well as recognizing our past Councilmen- a farewell plaque was made for Mr. Gallegos and a memorial plaque was presented to Mr. Diaz's family.

I am also very proud to say, I will continue as Mayor Pro-Tem. I want to take this time to educate a bit on this position, since I had a few constituents ask me about it.
Here is the definition & info.... A Mayor Pro-Tem is a city council member designated to step in for the Mayor when the Mayor is absent, unavailable or unable to serve. The Latin phrase pro tempore means "for the time being" and that temporary nature defines the entire role.
This position is voted on by the council itself.
I thank the council for this opportunity.

Together we will move forward....I'm very excited to now be functioning as a full council of 5.

Good Morning Crystal City!
Hope everyone had an amazing weekend.
I'm always proud of my City, but this past weekend was one with even more pride. 💞

THIS is what CC is about...growth, compassion & caring.

I often state that while I proudly represent you as Mayor Pro-Tem, I am only 1 person, we as a council are only so many, we as city employees & staff are only so many, BUT as a community, TOGETHER we can accomplish more.

When CC is spoken about badly, it gets me upset, when people say , "It doesn't change!", or "That's CC for you" it's disappointing to hear our own community put down our city.
Like the saying goes ..if you can't find a good person...BE A GOOD PERSON!

Over the weekend there were some beautiful events I wanted to recognize... Saturday Rocky Bosquez hosted an amazing Special Needs Softball Game, from all the pics, I can tell it was awesome . He & his wife had an idea and with some amazing volunteers brought it to life. Thank you for always encouraging inclusions.
Friday & Saturday were the graduation ceremonies for Southwest Texas College .....as I read over the pamphlets and saw so many CC graduates, I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear...WAY TO GO!!! We have High School Students graduating college before high school.. WOW what an accomplishment.
So many graduates of all ages in all career paths, how exciting !
On Sunday, Vanessa Ibarra decided to host a Remembrance Brunch for all those who have lost their Mother. The beautiful gesture of wanting to be there for someone , supporting one another, well that would make any Mother proud.

You don't need a million dollars or staff to get something started ..you just need to start!
Let's rise together CC!!!
