On March 9th and 10th, Crosby-Ironton hosted the South 7A Section Large Group Contest/Solo & Ensemble Festival for both band and choir! We had over 11 schools attend including: Aitkin, Barnum, Esko, Northland Remer, Proctor, Cromwell-Wright, Willow River

Our 9th-12th grade Symphonic Band perform a Category II piece, Halcyon Hearts, and earned three superior ratings, bringing home a trophy for the first time in many years :)

Many band students also performed solos/ensembles including: Belle Smith-Clarinet Solo: Superior
Alex Grabrian-Flute Solo: Superior
Carson Freese-Trumpet Solo: Superior
Sarah Maroney-Alto Sax Solo: Superior
Jozey Mertens & Hailey Miller-Flute & Clarinet Duet: Superior
Augustus Torgerson, Belle Smith, Alex Grabrian-Mixed Woodwind Trio: Superior
Noah Dietz, Nathan Mueller, Augustus Torgerson, Chris Wolf- Sax Quartet: Superior

The auditioned 9th-12th grade Concert Choir also performed and received one superior rating and two excellent ratings!

Spring has sprung!!! 🌸🌼🎶

Our 7th-12th Spring Band Concert will be Thursday, March 12th at 6:30 PM in the Mayberry Auditorium! Doors open at 6:20 PM.

On February 7th, select 7th-9th grade Ranger musicians participated in the first ever Junior High All-Conference, hosted by Rush City High School. These musicians had ONE day to rehearse and put on a concert after working with guest clinicians! Other participating schools include Aitkin, Braham, Oglivie, Isle, Onamia, Pine City, Hinkley-Finalyson, and Rush City.

Yesterday, we had 14 band students represent C-I at the College of St. Scholastica Honor Band (Ms. V’s alma mater!) About 40 other MN schools attended the honor band, but Crosby-Ironton had the most students accepted out of any other school! Congrats students, you represented C-I well with your Ranger pride and spirit!

10 students represented our Ranger Nation at the annual Great River All-Conference Choir & Band festival on Saturday, January 10th at Mora High School. Our C-I musicians made wonderful music alongside others from Aitkin, Braham, East Central, Hinkley-Finlayson, Isle, Mora, Ogilvie, Onamia, Pine City, and Rush City and had the opportunity to sing and play under the direction of two fabulous guest clinicians - Mr. Bradley Mariska (Farmington HS) and Ms. Stephanie Schumacher (Honors Choirs of Southeastern Minnesota). The day culminated in an outstanding final concert and we are very proud of our students for representing our school and community so well. Go C-I Go!

Yesterday evening, the C-I Symphonic Band performed at the 5th Annual Lakes Area Band Festival along with Brainerd HS, Milaca HS, Jordan HS, and the CLC Wind Symphony.

The Crosby-Ironton 9-12 Symphonic Band has been selected to perform at the prestigious 5th Annual Lakes Area Band Festival!

Come down to the Gichi-Ziibi in Brainerd at 7:00 pm THIS FRIDAY and support the band in their first concert performance of the year and bring your Ranger spirit! Go-CI-Go!
