Sometimes, it’s how we learn.

Who should actually be responsible for counting our votes?

That question gets much deeper in this part of the conversation.

In this clip, our guest argues that election officials and citizens have gradually lost some of the control they once had over the vote-counting process, including the ability to rely on hand counting in certain circumstances.

It’s a strong claim.

But it raises a larger question worth understanding:

There are a lot of conversations about AI.

For me, the more useful question is: 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼?

In this conversation, I share one of the ways I’ve used ChatGPT in my own business.

When I’m working inside a platform and don’t know the next step, I can upload a screenshot and ask what to do next. That kind of practical guidance helped me move through processes I had previously found frustrating enough to walk away from.

One example was government contracting. I had tried navigating that process years ago and quit because I couldn’t figure out how to get through it.

This time, I was able to use AI as a support tool to help me understand the steps and move through the process much more efficiently.

That’s where I think AI becomes most valuable for small businesses: not replacing judgment, but helping reduce the friction between “I 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀” and “h𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽.”

What if being young is not the disadvantage people assume it is?

At 20 years old, this young person shares why he refuses to see his age as a liability, and why he believes younger generations should pay attention, speak up, and become involved in the communities they will eventually inherit.

Young people are paying attention to government.

They are forming opinions, asking questions, participating in their communities, and finding their place in important conversations about the future.

The conversation is not about everyone agreeing.

It is about creating room for young people to participate, learn, listen, and be heard.

Too young to make a difference?

That’s exactly the idea this conversation challenges.

At 20 years old, Joseph is running for city council and says something young people hear all the time became one of his greatest strengths: his age.

But the bigger message goes beyond one candidate or one political party.

Young people are affected by the decisions being made in their cities right now. Their schools, jobs, housing, businesses, communities, and futures are not distant issues.

A “𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀” can sound more complicated than it actually is.

Article V of the U.S. Constitution provides two ways constitutional amendments can be proposed.

One begins in Congress.

The other allows states to apply for a convention for proposing amendments.

That is the basic idea behind what is commonly called a Convention of States.

The convention itself does not automatically change the Constitution. It is a process for developing and proposing amendments, which would still have to go through the constitutional ratification process before becoming part of the Constitution.

Understanding that distinction matters before deciding what you think about the idea itself.

Who actually controls the systems behind an election?

That question becomes more complicated when technology, programming, election officials, and outside vendors all become part of the process.

In this part of the conversation, the discussion turns to what can happen when technical responsibilities are outsourced and how much control election officials should retain over the systems they are responsible for administering.

The claims raised here deserve scrutiny, but the larger question is worth understanding:

When public institutions rely on private technology and outside vendors, where should responsibility and accountability ultimately sit?
