📢 IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NEWTON COUNTY PROPERTY OWNERS 📢

The Newton County Board of Tax Assessors has advised that the 2026 Annual Notices of Assessment are scheduled to be mailed on Friday, May 29, 2026.

📬 Property owners will have 45 days from the mail date to file an appeal regarding their assessment.

🗓️ Appeal Deadline: Monday, July 13, 2026

Appeals may be filed:
✔️ By mail
✔️ Online through the qPublic website
✔️ In person at the Newton County Board of Tax Assessors Office

⚠️ Please Note:
Due to new legislation, the Annual Notice of Assessment has changed this year. Property owners will no longer see estimated taxes or estimated rollback rates printed on the notice.

Instead, notices will now include a section titled:
“2026 Exemptions, Credits, and Preferential Assessments”
which reflects estimated tax savings associated with applicable exemptions and assessment programs.

📌 Questions regarding notices of assessment, property values, exemptions, or appeals should be directed to the Newton County Board of Tax Assessors Office at (770) 784-2030.

Please remember:
🏛️ The Tax Assessor’s Office determines property values.
💰 The Tax Commissioner’s Office bills and collects taxes.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you.
