Primary Elections – Mail Out Absentee Ballot Deadlines!

Pottawattamie Voters, if you would like to have an absentee ballot mailed to you for the 2026 Primary Elections, mail in or hand deliver your “State of Iowa Official Absentee Ballot Request Form” to the Auditor’s Office by May 18, 2026, 5:00 PM.

Important Dates:
Deadline date to send in a request: May 18, 2026, no later than 5:00 PM
Absentee ballot mailing start date: May 13, 2026
Absentee ballot mailing out end date: May 18, 2026
Absentee ballot return date: June 2, 2026, no later than 8:00 PM
Absentee ballot drop box opens: May 13, 2026

Note: Ballot drop box is located across from the flagpole by the courthouse parking lot.
