Serving People In Need—SPIN OC Serving People in Need Orange County (SPIN OC) — Guiding Orange County's homeless and working poor to self-sufficiency.

Serving People in Need Orange County (SPIN OC) is a nonprofit organization committed to serving the homeless and working poor in Orange County, California. Through quality programs and services, SPIN works with clients to help them become self sufficient. SPIN OC was founded in 1987 by Sam Boyce and six friends who saw a need and had a passion to serve the homeless. They passed out food weekly and

asked questions to determine what brought these families and individuals to these circumstances. Time and again, the volunteers heard stories of jobs lost, low income, or substance abuse situations that impacted their ability to pay rent. Even today, the need for access to permanent housing and substance abuse treatment remain the two of the greatest needs among homeless in Southern California. SPIN strives to help meet this need by giving people a hand-up, not a hand-out. SPIN has been recognized for the quality of its programs and outstanding success rate. In 2013, 92% of SPIN OC clients successfully became self sufficient and independent of all public support.

Our community continues to inspire with its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. Recently, Women of Cisco SoCal engaged over 175 attendees in assembling essential kits for the homeless and at risk families in Orange County. Collaborations with Edwards Lifesciences and Embrace Relief further amplify our impact. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our supporters and look forward to more partnerships to uplift our community.
